Governing use of the Gari.com website and member portal
Effective Date: 1st June 2026
This is a plain-language draft prepared as a starting point. It must be reviewed and approved by a qualified Tanzanian legal advisor (Sakri) before publication. Bracketed items [ ] require your input.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Gari.com website at gari- service.com and the member portal at app.gari-service.com (together, the “Platform”), operated by GARIDOTCOM LIMITED (“Gari.com”, “we”, “us”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
These Terms apply to all visitors and registered users. Membership is governed by the separate Membership Terms & Conditions, and your data is handled per our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account or purchase services.
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when registering and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your login details and one-time passcodes (OTPs) confidential and for all activity under your account.
The Platform lets you learn about our services, book appointments, purchase membership, buy vehicle parts and accessories, and (for members) manage your vehicles and records.
Service descriptions and prices shown are indicative. Final pricing for repairs and parts is confirmed in a quotation or job card before work begins.
A booking is a request and is confirmed once we acknowledge it. We may decline or reschedule bookings due to capacity, parts availability or other operational reasons.
Our service days are Tuesday to Sunday. On Sundays, only car wash services are available. We are closed on Mondays. Hours may change on public holidays.
Parts and accessories are sold subject to availability. We aim to keep prices and stock accurate but errors may occur; if a price is wrong we will contact you before fulfilling the order.
Title to goods passes to you on full payment. Risk passes on collection or delivery.
Returns, warranties and exchanges follow our store policy and applicable Tanzanian consumer law.
Confirm your parts return/warranty policy so we can state it precisely (e.g. window for returns, condition requirements, supplier warranty pass-through for Bosch/CMC parts).
Payments are processed through our payment partner (Selcom) and supported methods such as mobile money, card and bank transfer.
We do not store your full card or bank details. Payment information is handled by the payment provider under their own security standards.
You confirm you are authorised to use any payment method you provide.
The Platform offers an AI assistant and search to help with general questions about cars, our services, parts availability and bookings.
The assistant provides general information and convenience only. It is not professional mechanical, legal, financial or insurance advice, and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete.
Always confirm important matters with our staff. We are not liable for decisions made solely in reliance on the assistant.
For members, the Platform may display vehicle information, insurance status, and traffic fine or parking notices retrieved from third-party and government sources.
This information is provided for convenience and is sourced from external systems we do not control. It may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. The official record always prevails.
You remain solely responsible for your vehicle’s insurance, licensing and any fines. Gari.com is not responsible for reliance on third-party data.
Clauses 7 and the Privacy Policy must align with how TIRA (insurance) and TPF (fines) data is accessed. Confirm with Sakri the lawful basis and any disclaimers required before exposing this data to customers.
You agree not to:
Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.
Attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access.
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to reverse-engineer the Platform or its security.
Upload harmful code, scrape data at scale, or misuse the AI assistant.
Post false, offensive, infringing or misleading content.
The Gari.com name, logo, branding, content and software are owned by or licensed to GARIDOTCOM LIMITED and protected by law. You may not copy or use them without our written permission.
Content you submit (such as enquiries or reviews) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to use it to operate and promote our services.
The Platform is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law, we exclude implied warranties relating to the Platform’s availability or accuracy.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
Our total liability connected with the Platform is limited to the amount you paid to us for the relevant service or order.
Liability caps must be confirmed by your legal advisor against Tanzanian consumer protection law — some exclusions may not be enforceable.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being misused.
You may stop using the Platform at any time. Closing your account does not affect orders or obligations already in progress.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on the Platform with its effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tanzanian courts.
